Dowell Facilitates Grid Connection of the Largest Single Solar PV Station in Guangxi, China

On July 20, 2023, the first batch of PV modules of Guangxi PV project with energy storage, which Dowell Technology Co., Ltd. participated in, successfully connected to the grid. This marks an important step for Dowell to actively respond to China’s “dual carbon” goals (carbon peaking and carbon neutrality) and carry out green energy construction.

Located in Nanning City, China, the project covers an area of about 1,958 acres and is one of the first batch of new energy power base demonstration projects in China. With a total installed capacity of 488MW, it is equipped with a 220kV substation, energy storage power station and outgoing lines, making it the largest single PV station in Guangxi, China.

Once fully completed, the project is expected to generate 3.37 billion kWh of clean electricity annually, which is equivalent to reducing standard coal consumption by 1.0989 million tons and carbon dioxide emissions by 4.62 million tons per year. This will significantly contribute to energy structure adjustment and carbon peaking and neutrality goals and inject more vitality and benefits into local industrial and economic development.

During construction, the project team overcame several difficulties such as the large number of crossing points of outgoing lines by establishing special working groups, communicating with villagers, real-time monitoring, etc., to ensure smooth project progress. The first batch of generating units successfully connected to the grid in July as scheduled.
